Job Summary
Para II Autism – Indian Creek is a non-exempt instructional support role in which the paraeducator assists in supervising, caring for and instructing students with special needs across regular, resource, or self-contained classrooms. Responsibilities include adapting and providing accommodations to activities and materials under teacher direction, aiding students in and out of the classroom, addressing personal care needs as needed, attending professional development, collaborating with certified staff, implementing IEP-driven behavioral plans, supporting students with challenging behaviors, instructing in a range of activities aligned to IEP goals, maintaining instructional materials and data, and monitoring safety across environments. Requires a High School diploma or GED (and Title I credits or assessment if applicable), CPR/education strategy training, and the ability to work with diverse students; physical demands include lifting and moving students/equipment and frequent movement within school settings.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 48 hours of college credit or ability to pass Title I assessment (if Title I school)
