Job Summary
Assist in the supervision, care, and instruction of students with special needs in regular, resource, or self-contained classrooms. Adapt classroom activities and assignments to facilitate student participation, while frequently implementing behavioral plans and crisis intervention techniques under certified staff direction. Provide personal care assistance for medical conditions, including diaper changing, feeding, and lifting, and monitor students in various school and community environments to ensure safety. Aids students with daily living skills, social growth, and academic subjects in individual or group settings. Maintain instructional materials, data sheets, and accurate records, and attend in-service presentations to meet state requirements. Collaborate with staff to support student progress as established in Individual Education Programs.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 48 hours of college credit or the ability to pass the Title I assessment test
