Para I Resource - Santa Fe Trail Middle School

Para I Resource provides supervision, care and instruction to students with special needs in the regular classroom or resource room; assists in implementing plans for instruction; monitors student behavior; provides information to appropriate school personnel; and performs classroom clerical tasks.Responsibilities include adapting and providing accommodations to classroom activities under teacher direction; aiding students in and out of the classroom; assisting students with personal care needs when necessary; attending meetings and trainings to stay aligned with state requirements; collaborating with staff to support student progress as outlined in the IEP; implementing behavioral plans as designed by the IEP team; assisting students with challenging behaviors; delivering education and behavioral programming under supervision; instructing students in various activities to meet IEP goals; maintaining instructional materials and data sheets; monitoring students for safety across school environments; and performing other duties as assigned. Education and Knowledge: high school diploma or equivalent; knowledge of safety practices, crisis intervention, instructional procedures, and basic math/reading; abilities include communication, confidentiality, teamwork, and adaptability.
