Job Summary
Reinforce and implement instructional activities with prekindergarten students as prescribed by the teacher, while helping set up centers and managing daily check-ins and lunch counts. Assist in teaching social skills during gross motor play, supervise children on the playground and in the cafeteria, and manage nap time logistics including coting, labeling, and sheet washing. Prepare and distribute snacks, mix paint for art projects, and collect data for Work Sampling assessments. Provide direct physical care for students, including feeding, toileting, and changing diapers, while adhering to Arkansas Better Chance and Department of Human Services licensing guidelines. Complete 30 hours of annual professional development and participate in faculty meetings as directed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- Child Development Associate (CDA Credential) and passed the Para Pro Assessment exam or completed 60 or more college hours
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Bachelor's Degree in another area with at least 12 hours of study related to Early Childhood
- Must complete at least 30 hours of professional development pertaining to Early Childhood Development annually
- Know Board of Education policies, Desegregation Plan, district and school guidelines and regulations and adhere to same
