Job Summary
Para-Educator at Des Moines Prep supports students with special education needs under the guidance of the Special Education Teacher and Principal. Responsibilities include assisting in instructional delivery, implementing IEPs, supporting individual students inside/outside the classroom, maintaining organized data/materials, creating a welcoming classroom, addressing emotional/behavioral concerns, differentiating instruction, collaborating with teachers and school leadership, participating in professional development, and engaging families through conferences and events. Ideal candidates will have a paraeducator certification, high school completion or equivalent, 1-3 years of relevant experience, and strong skills in Microsoft Office applications. Compensation is budgeted with a $19/hour rate.
