Paraprofessional 2 in ESE will assist teacher and staff in the care, supervision, and instructional support of students with disabilities in the school setting. Under the direction of the teacher and supervision of the principal, duties include implementing instructional programs, preparing materials, supervising in the absence of the teacher, facilitating reading aloud and small group activities, supporting sign language or augmented communication needs, and assisting with classroom management. Responsibilities also cover light custodial duties related to safety and hygiene, participation in parent involvement activities, and collaboration with the teacher on instructional activities such as art, music, cooking, and community-based instruction as directed by the teacher.
