Paraprofessional 1, Exceptional Student Education (ESE) assists teachers and staff in the care and management of enrolled students while they are in school. Works under the direction of the teacher and supervision of the principal, performing duties to support students with disabilities, including assisting with transportation to/from the bus, personal hygiene needs, positioning and transferring students, meal preparation, basic medical tasks as trained, and implementation of classroom activities and communication supports under the teacher's guidance. Responsibilities include supporting classroom management, participating in professional development, maintaining positive communication with students, staff and parents, and assisting with community-based instruction and school activities as applicable.
