Job Summary
Entry-level Paper Machine Worker needed at Smurfit Westrock's Mahrt Papermill in Cottonton, AL to assist in operating the Paper Machine and cutting cores. Responsibilities include cutting paper cores to length, loading winder cores, removing cores from storage, assisting in startup of the winder under supervision, disposing wastepaper, cleaning during downtime, operating vacuum systems, and following safety practices. Requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to read, effective communication, and the capacity to work in a heavy industrial environment with rotating shifts; successful candidates will undergo a drug screening after a conditional offer. Starting wage is $22.67/hour with potential increase to $28.47/hour after qualification.
Required Qualifications

- Pass company required written test including Rules & Gauges, Numerical Ability, Reading, and Bennett Mechanical aptitude testing
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment
- Ability to work rotating shifts (Southern Swing)
