Job Summary
Place parts in specified relationships and fasten them with bolts, clips, screws, or cement. Cut products to specific measurements and remove defective items. Tend machines for force fitting and fastening operations while working across different stations as production models change. Clean equipment, floors, and work areas per safety procedures. Prior carpentry experience is helpful, and overtime may be involved. This entry-level role supports mass production of windows, doors, trusses, panels, and stairs at Builders FirstSource.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Verbal expression ability to effectively present information, in both individual and small group situations
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Ability to read tape measure
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must regularly and frequently stand for a long period of time
- Must use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Must reach with hands and arms
