Job Summary
Palliative Care Physician needed to join a team caring for KP GA members with potentially life-limiting illnesses. Mix of inpatient and outpatient palliative medicine with primary focus on outpatient care, including assessments, treatment, and recommendations. Outpatient visits primarily in KP medical offices and virtually; inpatient work at Emory St. Joseph's and Emory Decatur Hospitals. Collaborate with PCPs, oncologists, cardiologists, nurses, chaplains, social workers, and clinical pharmacy specialist to optimize quality of life and functional status. Responsibilities include office, telephone, video, and inpatient visits; developing medical care plans; counseling on advance directives, end-of-life care, and psychosocial issues; participation in meetings and continuing medical education; and traveling as needed for patient care. Requires 1 year post-residency in palliative care or related outpatient/facility setting; preferred 2 years; strong communication and teamwork skills; equal opportunity employer statement included.
Required Qualifications
- board certified in internal medicine or family medicine or other relevant certifications
- board certified in palliative care medicine
- ability to travel to various locations for patient care
