Job Summary
Palliative Care Physician role combining inpatient and outpatient care for Kaiser Permanente Georgia members; primary outpatient focus with visits in KP offices and virtual visits, plus inpatient work at Emory St. Joseph's and Emory Decatur Hospitals. Collaborates with nurses, chaplains, social workers, clinical pharmacy specialist, PCPs, oncologists, cardiologists, and other team members to optimize quality of life and functional status. Responsibilities include office, telephone, video, and inpatient visits; developing care plans with lab tests, medications, referrals; counseling on advance directives and end-of-life issues; participating in meetings and continuing medical education; travel to various locations as needed. Ideal candidates are board certified in internal or family medicine and palliative care medicine, with ability to communicate effectively with patients and families and to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Required Qualifications
- Board certification in internal medicine or family medicine or other relevant certifications
- Board certification in palliative care medicine
