Job Summary
Palliative Care Physician responsible for outpatient and inpatient care across KP GA with emphasis on quality of life, collaborating with nurses, chaplains, social workers, and a clinical pharmacy specialist. Provides assessments, treatment, and care recommendations, including counseling on advance directives and end-of-life issues. Outpatient visits occur primarily in KP medical offices and virtually; inpatient work at Emory St. Joseph's and Emory Decatur Hospitals. Works closely with members' PCPs, oncologists, and cardiologists to optimize overall health and functional status. Serves as a resource to the care team and participates in meetings, education, and community presentations. Requires board certification in internal or family medicine and in palliative care medicine; travel to various locations is required.
Required Qualifications
- Board certified in internal medicine or family medicine
- Board certified in palliative care medicine
- One-year post-residency experience in caring for palliative care patients in an outpatient and/or facility setting
- Ability and willingness to travel to various locations for patient care
