Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive medical and psychosocial evaluations for seriously ill patients and their families, managing symptoms and leading discharge planning within the Palliative Interdisciplinary team. Deliver educational efforts on palliative medicine while serving as a role model for clinical excellence and customer service. Monitor quality of care, exercise sound judgment, and assist staff during crises or emergencies. Work 8a-4:30p shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing from an Accredited College or University
- certified as a Nurse Practitioner in area of clinical focus
- Effective analytical and organization skills
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to educate others and serve as a positive change agent
- Leadership skills to direct others toward the successful treatment of patients
- Analytical skills to evaluate patient's status and healthcare procedures/techniques and to monitor quality of care
- Fiscal skills to monitor and control costs and revenue
- Willingness to learn and remain flexible in the changing healthcare environment
- Ability to assist staff in times of crisis or emergency
- Ability to conceptualize, develops, and implements new ideas or systems
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion while performing duties
- Ability to meet with the public outside the institution and efficiently market and promote cancer treatment
- Ability to determine work priorities, assigns work, and ensures proper completion of work assignments
- BLS Certification every two (2) years
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS Certification every two (2) years
