Job Summary
Operate the palletizing machine to produce properly stacked, stretch-wrapped pallets ready for warehouse storage while troubleshooting malfunctions in the machine, shuttle cars, wrappers, and photo eyes to maintain line efficiency. Select appropriate palletizing patterns, verify code dates, and ensure all finished pallets meet QA standards by minimizing over-hang and eliminating product gaps. Coordinate material handling with forklift drivers and Parsons/Thiele operators to prevent line stoppages, assist the manifestor in the LP process, and verify G-Code and quantity accuracy. Stand, walk, and lift up to 55lbs 15% of the time while wearing steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, and a hair net. Requires background in manufacturing and experience running large machines in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience running large machines
- Fast paced production experience
- Background in manufacturing
- Experienced within a manufacturing/process environment
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
- Familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN)
- Ability to stand
- Ability to walk
- Ability to lift up to 55lbs
- Willingness to work in hot and cold climates
- Ability to wear Steel toed shoes
- Ability to wear Ear Plugs
- Ability to wear Hair Net
Desired Qualifications
- Experience running large machines, fast paced production experience preferred
