Job Summary
Lead structural design and engineering layouts for complex warehouse storage systems by creating detailed 2D layouts and 3D models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or specialized rack design software. Calculate weight loads, seismic forces, stress tolerances, and overall structural stability while ensuring all designs strictly comply with Rack Manufacturers Institute standards, local building codes, and AISI specifications. Prepare complete engineering calculation packets and technical drawings for building permit submissions, then collaborate with sales, project managers, and installation crews to refine designs based on specific warehouse constraints and customer requirements. Review and approve manufacturing drawings, bills of materials, and layout configurations prior to production. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, proficiency in CAD software, and approximately 75% travel within the assigned region.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Supply Chain Management
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management software
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the assigned region (approximately 75% travel)
- Working knowledge of warehouse solutions and racking systems
- Experience in the non-mobile products and/or equipment market
- Technical background or ability to quickly learn complex product specifications
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proactive, self-starter attitude
- Hands-on experience with warehouse design, racking systems, or storage optimization solutions
- Familiarity with CAD software
