Job Summary
Painter position responsible for applying coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to exterior and interior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures across district buildings. Duties include surface preparation (sanding, filling holes), mixing and matching paints, painting with brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, staining and sealing wood, repairing and refinishing district buildings and playground equipment, erecting scaffolding and using ladders, delivering supplies, and maintaining records. Requires High School Diploma or GED, Texas driver’s license, successful fingerprint background check, and typically two years of experience in painting. Safety procedures and operation of hand and power tools are essential; ability to work independently and communicate effectively. This nonexempt, full-time role involves physical tasks, travel across the district, and potential irregular hours.
Required Qualifications

- Ability to prepare surfaces and apply paints and coatings
- Ability to mix paints to match colors

- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively and work independently
- Knowledge of safety procedures and handling of paints and chemicals
