Painter / Shipper

Job Summary
Operate, clean, and prepare products for painting according to PPI procedures while installing bushings, tapping hubs, and applying color coding to pulleys. Paint and palletize parts in accordance with production standards, conducting thorough inspections to identify defects and ensure quality. Accurately record daily manometer readings, manage paint waste logs, and replace thinner and totes as needed. Prepare orders for shipment by completing paperwork, utilizing bills of lading, and tagging processes. Perform routine maintenance on paint booths and maintain a clean work area, adhering to all health, safety, and environmental protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or a general education degree (GED)
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Forklift License
- Proficiency in basic computer applications
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prepare and inspect parts to meet company and customer specifications, including adherence to color-coding standards
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring safe and compliant work practices
- Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently, such as recording daily readings, managing paint waste, and adhering to shipping protocols
- Collaborative mindset with a strong commitment to fostering a positive and productive team environment
- Ability to accurately measure and interpret dimensions using a tape measure
- Flexibility to complete orders on short notice, meeting customer expectations and deadlines
- Consistent and reliable attendance
- Must be able to frequently stoop/bend
- Must be able to regularly use hands and arms
- Must be able to regularly stand and walk
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds or less
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 25 up to 45 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision
- Specific hearing abilities required for this job include the ability to hear equipment alarms and the ability to hear instructions from others
- Respirator use will be required
- Steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection
