Painter

Perform skilled painting work on university buildings and structures, including surface preparation, patching, finishing, and maintenance of walls, woodwork, furniture, and equipment. Follow established color schemes, mix pigments, and use brushes, rollers, or sprayers. Set up and dismantle scaffolding as required, protect property from damage, and restore sites after completion. Read drawings or blueprints, plan work per established plans, and collaborate with department personnel. Maintain tools and safety practices, comply with environmental and safety regulations, and be willing to work weekends or evenings. Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk long distances, and pass background checks; High school diploma or GED is preferred; painting experience (minimum 1 year) is required; completion of a painting vocational program or apprenticeship is a plus.
