Job Summary
Read work orders and prepare wood and metal surfaces by removing dirt, oil, grease, old paint, and smoothing cracks. Select and mix coating liquids to desired colors, then apply paint using spray guns, brushes, and rollers. Work at heights safely by erecting scaffolding or setting up ladders, and fill cavities with putty to attain smooth surfaces. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and hold NCCER certification with four years of Journeyman-level experience. Valid driver's license required.
Required Qualifications
- 4 years of Journeyman level experience
- NCCER certification
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be able to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting
- Must be able to paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using a spray gun, brush, and rollers
- Must be able to work at heights with no fear
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States
- Must be able to read work orders
- Must be able to receive instructions verbally
- Must be able to remove dirt, oil, and grease from surfaces
- Must be able to remove old paint
- Must be able to smooth cracks
- Must be able to coat and fill holes
- Must be able to select and mix coating liquid to produce the desired color according to specifications
- Must be able to erect scaffolding or set up a ladder to perform tasks above ground level
- Must be able to apply paint to the surface using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller
- Must have close vision
- Must have distance vision
- Must have peripheral vision
- Must have depth perception
- Must be able to adjust focus
