Job Summary
Painter role responsible for applying paint, finishes, and coatings to hospital surfaces (walls, ceilings, doors, windows, patient rooms, hallways, offices) while maintaining infection-control practices and healthcare regulations. Requires surface preparation (cleaning, sanding, priming), use of non-toxic finishes, touch-ups in high-traffic areas, and coordination with hospital management to minimize disruption. Expertise in healthcare-specific painting, safety protocols, ability to work independently or with maintenance staff, and proficient in reading blueprints and using email/web-based tools. May work off-hours to limit impact on hospital operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Journeyman painting certification preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
- Minimum 5 years painting experience
- Knowledge of non-toxic paints and materials beneficial
- Journeyman painting certification required
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Ability to plan and design system improvements
