Job Summary
Perform painting tasks on walls, floors, doors, safety poles, and rails by scraping, sanding, priming, and sealing surfaces before application. Cover protected areas with cloth or plastic, make small repairs using caulk or putty, and utilize high lifts or ladders as needed. Follow all safety requirements, wear proper personal protective equipment including hard hats and steel-toed shoes, and maintain a clean work area. Work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM at a Waukegan, IL facility, reporting to the Department Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Painting / Prepping experience
- experience with drywall and sheetrock work
- Must be able to understand the proper use of paints and solvents to work in an efficient yet effective manner
- Must be able to work as a team player with other employees in the Specialty and Operation Departments
- Must use proper personal protective equipment
- Must be able to be flexible with varying job assignments and working conditions
- Recognize and understand safety signs and building warning systems
- Understand safety requirements, understand & meet company handbook expectations
- Ability to change tasks or assignments outside normal duties
- Must be comfortable wearing PPE (Hard hat, steel toed shoes, vest, etc)
- Must be energetic, pleasant & professional
- Strong communication skills
- Understanding of customer service
