Job Summary
Apply sub-coatings and finish coatings to metal components and finished vehicles, including parts painting to completed vehicle paint in solid and metallic colors; mix coatings per specifications; ensure proper surface condition and paint preparation; operate spray equipment and maintain finish quality; follow hazardous waste disposal and safety procedures; assist master painter with cleanup, parts staging, and delivery; read and follow English instructions; work with minimal supervision and meet department production goals; maintain equipment and align with quality standards and housekeeping rules.
Required Qualifications
- GED or HS Diploma
- Ability to read, write, comprehend and verbally communicate simple instructions in English
- Ability to read English and use measuring devices (metric tape measures)
- Must be able to operate spray equipment in confined spaces
- Must be able to operate hand control crane
- Must have general knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards
- Hazardous Materials Handling Operations training with annual refreshers
- Six (6) months automotive-quality paint experience preferred or prior acceptable training
