Job Summary
Perform interior and exterior painting, surface preparation, and minor drywall repairs across campus buildings. Clean, scrape, sand, patch holes, and apply primer as needed before painting walls, ceilings, doors, and trim. Use brushes, rollers, or sprayers to apply paint, stain, sealants, and protective coatings while matching existing colors. Protect surrounding areas with masking and drop cloths, then maintain clean job sites and store tools properly. Assist with housing turnovers, event preparation, and facility refresh projects while following safety guidelines for ladders and elevated surfaces.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods
- Ability to work on ladders and elevated work platforms
- Ability to perform physical labor in indoor and outdoor environments
- Professional conduct and courteous communication
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous painting or construction experience
- Experience with commercial or residential painting
- Basic knowledge of painting tools and techniques
- Ability to properly prep surfaces for painting
- Ability to use ladders and basic maintenance equipment safely
- Ability to follow safety procedures and facility standards
- Basic understanding of drywall repair and patching
