Job Summary
Conduct surface preparation, abrasive blasting, and protective coating application on marine vessels, Defence assets, and industrial infrastructure using spray, brush, and roller techniques. Inspect completed work for compliance with quality and project specifications while safely operating and maintaining painting and blasting equipment. Read work instructions, drawings, and coating specifications; follow health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures including correct PPE usage. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while collaborating to deliver projects on schedule. Requires minimum two years' experience in industrial painting and abrasive blasting, a Certificate III in Surface Preparation (desirable), and valid Australian Defence Common Access Card.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience in industrial painting, abrasive blasting and protective coating applications
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices, including PPE requirements
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual, labour-intensive work in industrial environments
- Reliable team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Current White Card
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Common Access Card (DCAC)
- Full and unrestricted rights to work in Australia
