Job Summary
Prepare surfaces, apply paint and finishes, and repair drywall to maintain guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces at historic Key West properties. Clean, sand, patch, and caulk surfaces as needed, then match colors and protect surrounding areas before executing projects with brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. Inspect completed work for quality compliance, maintain organized tool storage, and follow OSHA safety regulations while handling paints and chemicals. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and assist the Engineering team with general upkeep and special projects. Work flexible hours including weekends and holidays, with occasional emergency call-ins as business needs require.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet the minimum age requirement of the jurisdiction
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and occasional emergency call-ins as business needs require
- Ability to safely operate ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and painting equipment
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
- Valid driver's license preferred
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Two (2) or more years of professional painting experience in hospitality, commercial, residential, or institutional settings preferred
- Basic knowledge of general building maintenance is a plus
