Job Summary
Painter position at OU Health in the Facilities Engineering group. Responsible for painting, finishing and decorating items such as wood, metal and concrete surfaces of buildings and structures, equipment, machinery, and furnishings. Tasks include preparing surfaces with sandpaper and other tools, filling cracks and holes, replacing glass in sashes/doors, caulking frames, mixing paints to match colors, applying undercoats and finish coats, calculating insulation thickness to minimize heat/cooling losses, insulating pipes and tanks, painting signs, hanging wallpaper, and cleaning painting equipment. Requires the ability to work on ladders/scaffolds/riggings and to follow safety precautions. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 0-3 years of experience, with 1+ years of skilled painting experience strongly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 0-3 years of experience required
- 1 or more years of skilled painting experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in finishing and painting and the safety precautions observed
- Skill in use of paint application tools, mixing paints and matching color
- Ability to set up and work on ladders, scaffolds, and riggings
