Job Summary
Blast & Paint Shop Technician responsibilities include operating blasting equipment to prepare surfaces of earthmoving equipment components, removing rust and old coatings, safely handling and transporting components, coordinating with material handlers, applying primers and topcoats with spray guns or equivalent, ensuring coating thickness and uniform coverage per engineering specs, inspecting surfaces post-blasting and painted components for quality, maintaining paint application equipment, reporting malfunctions, following safety protocols and PPE usage, identifying safety hazards, disposing of blasting materials properly, providing QA documentation, punching in/out work orders with Genius software, daily clock-ins via ADP, and maintaining efficient daily output. Requires technical proficiency in blasting and paint application, strong attention to detail, ability to operate and maintain equipment, good communication and teamwork, problem-solving skills, safe and organized work habits, and ability to travel within the facility. Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; preferred blasting/painting experience; valid Class 5 license; experience with paint application systems and equipment maintenance is a plus. Physical demands include lifting heavy components and standing/bending for extended periods; PPE required.
