Prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting by removing dirt, oil, grease, old paint, smoothing cracks, and filling holes with putty. Apply coatings to equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and working areas using spray guns, brushes, and rollers. Select and mix liquid coatings to match specifications, then work at heights using scaffolding or ladders. Read work orders and receive verbal instructions while performing other assigned duties. Requires three to five years of Journeyman-level experience and legal authorization to work in the United States.
