Painter A

Painter A responsible for applying coatings to assembled products, entering tanks to paint interior surfaces, and maintaining safety equipment. Responsibilities include mixing/thinning coatings, sealing and storing unused coating, cleaning of painting equipment, replenishing paint in pressure pots, verifying coating coverage with a mil gauge, completing related paperwork, and reading/interpreting blueprints and finishing specifications. Must understand humidity and dew point effects for tank preparation, operate material handling equipment (cranes, hoists, rolls, forklifts), and comply with safety and environmental regulations, including knowledge of Global Harmonization System. Requires ability to read and interpret receiving documents, communicate with vendors, and perform basic mathematical calculations. Training in safety/environmental procedures and use of spray guns, respirators, and other PPE is required; standard post-high school education or equivalent experience preferred. This role requires producing a high-quality finish with no runs or orange peel and may involve handling hazardous waste and following company policies.
