Job Summary
Prepare, apply, and verify customer coating and surface preparation requirements, ensuring substrates are clean and free of contaminants. Mix and apply coatings per manufacturer specifications, adjusting parameters for humidity and temperature while avoiding defects like runs or sags. Use wet mil or dry film gauges to ensure uniform thickness and repair blending defects to a high standard. Perform daily and weekly cleaning and preventive maintenance on painting and mixing equipment, maintaining grounding and air filtration systems for code compliance. Complete required paperwork, quality documentation, and self-inspections while maintaining a safe, clean work area. This 3rd shift role (Sunday-Thursday, 11 PM-7 AM) offers a starting rate of $26.75/hour plus a $1.00 shift premium, with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, HSA, 401(k), and pension plans after 30 days.
Required Qualifications
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and write
- Ability to work independently with moderate supervision
- Physical capability to frequently lift/carry up to 35 lbs
- Physical capability to occasionally lift 65–70 lb paint pails (3–6 times per shift)
- Ability to pass a physical exam required for respirator use
- Ability to enter confined spaces as required
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or technical school training
- One to three years of painting experience
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
