Job Summary
Set up and operate paint application equipment to apply powder to production materials using manual and automatic spraying systems. Hang components onto conveyors, unload painted materials, and perform visual inspections to ensure complete coverage and quality standards. Clean and refill powder feeding units, record usage, and touch up minor defects as required. Review shop packet specifications to select correct colors and apply powder with manually operated guns. Stack completed work, re-identify customer orders, apply ID tags, and deliver materials to the next production department. Perform set-up duties on finishing system equipment, maintain proper dimensions, and ensure products meet nVent quality specifications. Comply with safety procedures, maintain a clean work area, and report hazards or equipment problems to the team leader.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Powder coat painting experience
- Knowledge of powder coat painting in manufacturing environment
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment
- Skill to utilize the following machines and tools: Material handling equipment: pallet jack, lift tables, wheeled carts, etc.
- Skill to utilize the following machines and tools: Safety equipment: safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, etc.
- Skill to utilize the following machines and tools: Hand tools: pliers, hammer, wrench, sockets, files, screw drivers, etc.
- Skill to utilize the following machines and tools: Measurement tools: calipers, scales, go / no-go gauges, etc.
- Skill to utilize the following machines and tools: Fixtures
- Skill to utilize the following machines and tools: Computers
