Job Summary
Prepare surfaces using abrasive blast and power tool cleaning per manufacturer recommendations. Identify tools, safety risks, and necessary precautions to eliminate hazards. Mix and identify paint and coatings as required, applying proper stroke types and techniques for specific items. Work safely at heights, off ladders, scaffolds, and platforms while adhering to all site rules and regulations. Clean work areas and wear required PPE including hard hats, respirators, and safety boots. Maintain thorough knowledge of materials, tools, and processes to ensure equipment protection per contract specifications.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years working as a Painter or Painter Helper on an industrial construction project
- knowledge on materials, tools, and processes involved with basic painting techniques and knowledge of paint qualities
- ability to identify the relationship to materials to be painted and the technique, mixture, and number of coatings required
- reliable transportation
- ability to work full work schedule and any additional overtime with little to no notification
- willingness to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations
- ability to meet all physical requirements
- ability to follow all company and site rules and regulations
- required tools
Desired Qualifications
- Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
- National Center for Construction Education and Research's (NCCER) certification for Industrial Journeyman Painter
- Formal/Technical education
- Some experience working with scaffolding, insulation, airless painting
