Job Summary

Prepare and paint product to meet company standards while operating and maintaining paint booths. Inspect parts for quality before and after painting, checking for weld spatter and paint thickness. Perform daily paint line start-up, shut-down, and clean-up tasks, including cleaning pumps, hoses, and paint gun venturis. Routinely communicate with the Unload Lead to ensure consistent quality and make appropriate adjustments. Operate controls and functions of paint booths and guns, following ISO procedures when taking paint from stock. Break down empty paint boxes and report supply needs or equipment breakdowns to the supervisor. Perform daily preventive maintenance tasks on paint booth equipment and paint room machinery. Operate hoists and stage prep materials for approaching weldments, blowing water out using an air gun. Remove weld spatter and jagged edges with hand tools, then thoroughly wipe parts to ensure good powder adhesion. Sort and restock plug bins. Clean all stages of equipment, including curing ovens per the preventive maintenance schedule.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous electrostatic powder coating paint experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English (speak, read, write and understand)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed
  • Ability to work under schedule and time restrictions with limited supervision
  • Lift up to 2 lbs constantly
  • Lift 35 lbs occasionally
  • Lift 50 lbs rarely
  • Push/pull up to 25 lbs occasionally
  • Walk, stand, bend, twist/turn, reach overhead, climb stairs and grasp tools as necessary
  • Successfully complete a pulmonary function test
  • Wear respirator as required
