Job Summary
Read blueprints and specifications to determine material scope, then measure, mark, and cut wooden or metallic components. Identify safety risks and mix required paints and coatings using proper stroke techniques. Operate high-pressure equipment including shotguns, water cannons, and machines up to 40,000 psi while working safely at heights on ladders and scaffolds. Clean blast buildings by shoveling and sweeping. Maintain thorough knowledge of paint qualities and coating mixtures to ensure protection per contract specifications. This Industrial Journeyman Painter role requires NCCER certification and experience with industrial construction projects.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years working as a Painter or Painter Helper on an industrial construction project
- Must be able to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently
- Knowledge on materials, tools, and processes involved with basic painting techniques and knowledge of paint qualities
- Must be able to identify the relationship to materials to be painted and the technique, mixture, and number of coatings required
- Reliable transportation
- Must be able to work full work schedule and any additional overtime with little to no notification
- Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations
- Must follow all company and site rules and regulations
- Must have required tools
- Industrial Journeyman Painter NCCER
Desired Qualifications
- Current Zachry or Zachry ROF'ed employee
- Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
- National Center for Construction Education and Research's (NCCER) certification for Industrial Journeyman Painter
- Formal/Technical education
- Experience working with scaffolding, insulation, and painting
