Job Summary
Paint Technician within Steer Automotive Group’s Luxury Pod, delivering high-quality paint refinishing on premium vehicles to OEM standards. Responsibilities include completing refinishing on vehicle panels, applying special finishes (piano, mirror gloss, matte, satin, candy, pearlescent, 3-stage tri-coat), preparing and refinishing surfaces with precision, mixing and matching paints using digital spectrophotometers, handling luxury finishes, operating spray booths, performing quality checks, coordinating with pod and dealer teams to plan workloads and maintain efficient repair cycles, and staying current with OEM paint processes while maintaining a clean, calibrated workspace.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience as a Paint Technician in luxury or prestige vehicle repair
- Expertise in high-end refinishing and exotic finishes
- Competency in paint mixing, blending, and correction techniques
- Experience in a controlled spray booth environment
- Strong understanding of colour theory, surface preparation, and application
- Skilled in exterior trim removal/refitting
- Full UK driving licence
- Desirable: ATA level or NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Refinishing or equivalent
- Manufacturer-accredited training (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar Land Rover, Audi, Porsche, Bentley, Aston Martin, etc.)
