Job Summary
Paint Supervisor responsible for the daily supervision of all aspects of the paint process to ensure projects meet quality standards and are cost-efficient. Train and mentor leads and employees to maximize painting and prepping skills and advance career growth; monitor performance, track and report on department quality, and schedule employees to meet production goals. Directly supervise leads and painters, coordinate staffing with team leads and Manufacturing Manager, provide training and direction, lead Continuous Improvement initiatives, ensure safety and compliance with SDS, and oversee preparation and application of coatings, equipment setup, and quality checks across shifts. Must ensure adherence to drawings/specifications and foster a safe, productive, and quality-conscious work environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent
- Two years experience as an industrial painter (preferred)
- One year supervisory or lead experience (preferred)
- One year training or education in painting at a recognized trade school or apprenticeship program (preferred)
- OSHA Forklift Certification
- OSHA rigging/sling safety Certification
- Must be able to pass a pulmonary functions test
- Ability to read, interpret, understand and determine painting needs; read and implement painting blueprints/traveler plan specification
- Ability to read and interpret production reports, SDS related to product and all safety procedures
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook)
- Ability to work at heights up to 40 feet, lift up to 100 pounds
- Demonstrated teamwork, safety, and quality orientation
- Knowledge of painting methods, materials, equipment, and safety procedures
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and staff
