Paint Process Engineer

Job Summary
Paint Process Engineer responsible for specifying, designing, implementing, and tracking the improvement of robot path programming and optimization of the manipulator, applicator, and fluid delivery process. Ensures paint process setup instructions are at current revision levels and correct; coordinates trial runs and quality improvements for the paint process; coordinates work with Maintenance and Production; implements cost-reduction improvements for new and existing equipment/processes; provides technical support to Production and Engineering operations for improvement programs. Working knowledge of paint department processes and principles, including latest technologies; general knowledge of production control/scheduling; blueprint reading; statistical analysis; ISO 14001, TS 16949; lean manufacturing; PLC programming; Allen Bradley PLC, Studio 5000; Fanuc P-250 and Modicon PLC experience; basic machining/tooling and electrical/schematics knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related field preferred
- At least two years of related experience in paint shop and production floor environment
- Allen Bradley PLC, Studio 5000, and paint shop pre-treatment process experience preferred
- Fanuc P-250 experience and Modicon PLC experience a plus
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001, TS 16949 requirements
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- Basic knowledge of PLC programming
- Quality-oriented mindset with ability to read blueprints and perform statistical analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, e-mail); familiar with database-related software
