Job Summary
Prepare vehicles for painting by receiving and interpreting work orders, prints, and instructions. Perform high-quality automotive painting on chassis, modules, cabinets, and small parts, including color creation, formula mixing, and stripe layout application. Sand, mask, degrease, and assemble/disassemble modules and chassis as required. Apply interior and exterior linings, touch up minor defects, and verify final finishes against established designs. Operate spray guns, hand and air tools, and other equipment while maintaining cleanliness and safety protocols. Work in the Paint department with limited travel, reporting to the Paint Team Leader.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Two years prior working experience in automotive painting with AXALTA paints
- Experience with multi-color painting applications
- Experience with formula mixing and color blending
- Experience with bodywork, sanding, masking, hand/air tools and tape measure
- Ability to pass spirometric testing and physical requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to regularly walk, talk and hear, reach with hands and arms, stand, crouch and kneel
- Ability to frequently use hand to finger dexterity in order to handle objects, tools, and/or controls
- Ability to occasionally stoop or crawl
- Ability to successfully pass a post offer drug test
- Ability to pass random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug and alcohol test thereafter
