Job Summary
Lead and work with assigned employees in paint mixing, inventory and storage operations to formulate, tint, and deliver paint color orders for aircraft interior components, exterior finishes, and spare parts. Perform surface preparation, clean tanks, maintain color database, and ensure compliance with safety and color standards. Operate mechanical lifts, break down batches, generate color test strips, and verify color accuracy using micrometers and visual checks. Maintain workflow considering dry times, shake times, and hazardous-material handling in a 100% onsite Boeing paint shop environment. Maintain and order paints and supplies, ensure proper labeling, and obtain QA buyoff on paint formulations to meet specified tolerances. This role requires high attention to detail, strong technical skills, and ability to work in a team while adhering to regulatory and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience with paint/coating
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)
- Experience using basic math (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, & ratios)
- Experience in handling and disposing of hazardous materials per government regulations
- Ability to effectively wear eye, hearing, foot, hand, respirator and other PPE at all times
- Ability to recognize colors
