Job Summary
Pain Management RN position located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in the Pain Management Clinic. Responsible for providing pain management services to assigned patients, conducting medication education and assessing changes, collaborating with a case manager RN and physicians, documenting interactions, following established clinical protocols, tracking patient needs and referrals, handling follow-ups, participating in quality record reviews, maintaining current nursing knowledge, and adhering to patient education guides.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (community college/junior college/college/university)
- Current, unrestricted RN license in the United States or territories (state, DC, PR, Guam, USVI)
- ACLS certification from American Heart Association
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from American Heart Association
- Minimum 2 years of experience in pain management or related field
- Minimum 1 year full-time experience as a clinic nurse in last 3 years (preferably in Pain Clinic)
- Strong English communication skills (written and spoken)
- Exemplary customer service and interdisciplinary team communication skills
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well for patient and team communication
