Job Summary
Perform interventional pain care including fluoroscopy and ultrasound-guided invasive procedures such as epidural steroid injections and radiofrequency ablations. Conduct comprehensive medical and functional evaluations for Veterans, establish diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans emphasizing functional restoration. Provide inpatient chronic pain consultative services, manage opioid medications with risk stratification and tapers per VA guidelines, and oversee medication adjustments utilizing non-opioid analgesics. Order, review, and analyze diagnostic studies to optimize care plans while collaborating with nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Complete all required electronic health record documentation in accordance with VHA standards. Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with pay of $160+ per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
- Graduate of an accredited medical school with an MD or DO degree.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Board Certified /Board Eligible in Pain Medicine or have demonstrable experience in pain management and opioid prescribing, have experience in providing scope of care as described herein and be currently certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- Location: 700 Technology Drive, South Charleston, WV
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with the VA is a plus.
