Job Summary
Field-based advocacy role across Camden and surrounding areas: visit hospitals and care homes to represent and support individuals subject to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), ensure rights under the Mental Capacity Act, challenge decisions when appropriate, manage a caseload with a person-centred approach, and collaborate with professionals, families, and care providers. Responsibilities include maintaining case records and producing high-quality reports, identifying safeguarding concerns, promoting advocacy through awareness sessions, and contributing to service development. Requires travel across the working area and a relevant advocacy qualification.
Required Qualifications
- A relevant advocacy qualification (Level 2, 3 or Level 4 Independent Advocacy Practice)
- Experience of working as an advocate or Paid RPR, including managing a caseload
- A solid understanding of advocacy principles, empowerment, and relevant legislation
- The ability to travel across your working area
- Strong communication skills, adaptable to a range of people and needs
- The ability to write clear, concise reports and maintain accurate records
- A commitment to delivering inclusive, culturally appropriate support
