Job Summary
Deliver compassionate, collaborative, high-quality patient care across all age groups, cultures, and psychosocial needs consistent with admission and discharge criteria. Render direct and indirect nursing care through the application of the nursing process while adhering to Sturdy Health policies, the Massachusetts Nurse Practice Act, and CDC and OSHA standards. Systematically assess patients for care needs, changes in condition, or response to treatment, and independently administer complex nursing techniques and medications. Respond to medical emergencies, initiate appropriate interventions, and provide emotional support and education to patients and families. Maintain accurate patient records, ensure compliance with research protocols, and participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives. Work 32 scheduled weekly hours in a fast-paced environment requiring stamina, mental alertness, and the ability to lift between 25 and 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts state RN license
- Current BLS certification
- Command of verbal and written English
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Adaptability
- Excellent communication and customer services skills
- Must possess sound dexterity and visual acuity
- Mental alertness
- Stamina to work in a fast-paced environment or in emergency situations
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach without restriction
- Ability to lift between 25 and 50 pounds using good body mechanics
- Ability to push heavy equipment, stretchers, and wheelchairs
- Must meet annual safety training requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in acute care setting preferred
- ACLS certification (required with BLS for specific units: Telemetry, ICU, ED, Cardiac Rehab, Endoscopy, LDRP, PACU, Med/Surg)
- NRP certification (required with ACLS and BLS for LDRP)
- PALS certification (required with ACLS and BLS for PACU and ED)
- New Graduate Nurses accepted for some positions
