Job Summary
Monitor patients' vital signs, manage post-surgical pain, and collaborate with the surgical team to provide high-quality post-anesthesia care. Conduct physical, cognitive, spiritual, and psychosocial assessments before and after surgery while formulating and revising plans of care based on patient age and development. Educate patients and families regarding post-operative needs, maintain accurate documentation, and respond promptly to complications or emergencies. Maintain Joint Commission standards and participate in performance improvement activities and in-services. Schedule is 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday. Requires current state license, two years acute hospital experience with pediatric focus, and BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Registered nurse who is a graduate of an accredited school with a current state license
- Minimum of two years of experience in an acute hospital setting
- Pediatric experience
- CPR (BLS) certification
- ACLS certification within 6 months of transfer or hire
- PALS certification within 6 months of transfer or hire
- Prior working knowledge of using computer programs and electronic medical records
- On-call (continuously or rotationally) to provide support
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- OR/PACU/pre- and post- surgery experience
- ICU or other intensive experience
