PACU Registered Nurse (Part-Time)

Assists in provision of nursing care to patients in a same-day surgery setting, assuming total responsibility for patient care in accordance with physician's orders and center policies. Monitors and controls use of and charging for supplies utilized in the center. Administers medications and treatments ordered by physicians while accurately assessing need for pain or nausea medication. Records and reports all symptoms, reactions, abnormalities, and changes in the physical and/or mental conditions of post-operative patients. Cares for and discharges post-operative patients according to facility policies. Functions independently in emergency situations, making logical quick decisions based on sound judgment. Maintains supplies and cleanliness in the work environment while ensuring patient and employee privacy. Provides psychological support to patients and families.
