Job Summary
Packing Supervisor leads daily packing operations at the Highbridge facility, overseeing packaging of dog chew products (bully sticks, cow ears, pig ears) for wholesale distribution. Manages 15–40+ hourly staff on a single day shift, enforces GMP/SQF and other regulatory requirements, drives throughput, quality, and accuracy targets, and conducts bilingual briefings in English and Spanish. Responsible for shift packing processes (weighing, bagging, sealing, labeling, case packing, staging), setting daily output targets, monitoring line speeds, coordinating with warehouse, and adjusting labor allocations to maintain throughput. Supervises packing staff, enforces attendance, GMP compliance, and productivity standards, collaborates with HR on onboarding and disciplinary actions, and develops Packing Leads. Ensures allergen control, sanitation, pest exclusion, and safety programs (OSHA, PPE) are followed, leads GMP floor audits, documents production activities, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives in labor efficiency, waste reduction, and yield optimization.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing, packing, or consumer goods production environments
- Experience leading 15+ hourly workforce across packing lines
- Hands-on experience with GMP, HACCP, or SQF food safety standards
- Proven ability to perform under pressure with tight deadlines, equipment issues, and labor variability
- Strong attention to detail for label accuracy, pack variances, and GMP deviations
- Fully bilingual English/Spanish—effective communication with floor staff and management
