Packing Shipping Operator Day Shift

Job Summary

Maintain warehouse space and receive/unload incoming materials while completing receiving documentation and storing items in designated locations. Coordinate outbound shipments by identifying orders, verifying lot numbers, and loading trucks or intermodal containers according to product specifications and customer requirements. Apply trailer seals, secure loads with appropriate dunnage, and document all seal numbers on load paperwork. Follow Standard Operating Procedures for safe shipping practices, maintain a clean and organized environment, and properly use required PPE. Report accidents, incidents, and near misses to the Superintendent of Operations and Plant Manager. Participate in internal and external audits to ensure audit-ready work areas.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 3–5 years of experience in warehouse, shipping and receiving, manufacturing, or material handling operations
  • Intermediate proficiency with general computer applications
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving documentation and inventory control processes
  • Understanding of lot control, product traceability, and customer shipping requirements
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and food safety requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Forklift certification required or the ability to obtain certification upon hire
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with intermodal and export container loading
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory systems, or ERP software
  • Experience in food manufacturing, distribution, or commodity handling
  • Experience with load securement, dunnage application, and shipping compliance requirements
