Job Summary
Prepare, inspect, and securely pack large items such as desks, chairs, and cubicle panels for warehouse storage and transit. Wrap and cushion wood, laminate, glass, and metal surfaces using foam, bubble wrap, and shrink wrap. Assemble custom cartons and wooden pallets, then verify pick slips by cross-referencing physical counts against order documentation. Conduct quality checks for surface defects, affix shipping labels with barcodes and handling stamps, and load secured inventory onto delivery trucks. Maintain an orderly workspace by clearing debris and organizing packing materials. Work in a manufacturing environment requiring up to 8 hours of standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and adapting to varying shifts including early mornings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience using manual and pneumatic tools like industrial tape guns, staple machines, box cutters, and shrink-wrap dispensers
- Basic knowledge or certification in operating material handling tools such as pallet jacks or dollies
- Flexibility to work changing warehouse shifts, including early mornings, overtime, or occasional weekends
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours daily and lift up to 50 lbs consistently without assistance
- Ability to stand for long shifts, bend, twist, and repetitively lift heavy office furniture weighing up to 50 lbs
