Packer/Press Operator | 2nd shift

Job Summary
Operate a stamping press and auxiliary packaging equipment on the 2nd shift to meet or exceed daily production goals. Manually pack steel components into packaging containers, inspect finished products and mark steel lot numbers on shipping containers. Report all machine malfunctions to mechanics or supervisors and assist with maintenance to keep press/packaging equipment operational. Strive to minimize waste, complete quality and production paperwork during the shift, and maintain a safe, clean work area. Must be able to work overtime as needed, demonstrate safety and quality focus, and communicate effectively with coworkers and management. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; or up to 1 Year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Reasoning ability to follow detailed instructions
- Basic computer skills
- Effective communication with co-workers and management about work and safety issues
- Awareness of safety policies and procedures
- Willingness to work overtime
- Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness in work
- Dependability and initiative
- Ability to interact professionally with co-workers, vendors and customers
