Job Summary
Packer II on 2nd Shift, on-site in Cranston, RI, responsible for detailed, multi-step packing, labeling and boxing finished products. Follows standard practices and uses ERP to determine orders, updates work performed, and maintains inventory of packing materials. Rotates between workstations to meet production needs, performs light assembly and/or minor testing, attaches name plates, labels and dates boxes, and ensures products are packed to specification. Maintains a clean, organized workspace, follows safety policies, uses PPE, and participates in monthly safety meetings. Requires ability to read and follow Manufacturing Process Sheets (MPS) and Bills of Material (BOM); strong attention to accuracy, quality requirements, and documentation in ERP; competent data entry and teamwork skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 6 months experience with picking / packing in a manufacturing environment
- Competent to operate computer and complete basic data entry in systems
- Must successfully learn specific responsibilities as assigned and adhere to production procedures
- Proficient and functioning in job responsibilities and able to attain MPS training sign-off within 90 days
- Physically able to operate hand or foot pedal stapler and pneumatic air stapler
- Ability to push, pull, lift and/or move materials of up to 30 lbs; capable of using hoists for materials over 30 lbs
- Ability to perform repetitive work requiring constant alertness or activity, including standing and lifting
- Capable of following verbal and/or written instruction
- Good communication skills with the ability to work within a team setting
- Attention to detail is essential for success
